Missing it.

Life is funny sometimes… One moment I’m fishing with my dad off of lake Michigan at 9 years old, or yelling at the top of my lungs at a Rascal Flats concert with my best friend; the first trip that we were actually “on our own”, Next thing I know it I am sitting at my desk staring at a blank computer screen thinking to myself where did the time go?  How is it I am 19 years old and I am actually “on my own”.  I thought college would be easy, coming home once every two months or so.  College means growing up, even when all I really want to do is hold on to the moments where I had someone there to pick me up when I fall, or have my childhood friends to laugh with.  Well I am just going to admit it.  I miss it…but with a deep breath I know growing up is a part of life.  Making new friends, accepting failure, and finding someone who is going to be by my side forever.  These are things that scare me…at the same time they make me anxious for the rest of my life to start.  Instead of focusing on the past, I am dealing with my now.  Which includes a man who loves me past my flaws, my family who are always just a phone call away, and my savior who when the walls are coming down he is always there to hold me up.  Life is funny sometimes…but honestly who doesn’t love to laugh?

Our God

“Our God is greater, our God is stronger

God You are higher than any other

Our God is Healer, awesome in power
Our God, Our God…"
 -Our God, by Chris Tomlin.
I attend a university that requires chapel three times a week. At first I thought I would hate the fact that I was forced to go to this and would be penalized if I decided to sleep in or have too much homework to attend. Three weeks in, God finally reached my selfish thoughts.  He did this through a song we sing during chapel nearly every week. I realized chapel is only what you make it. Do I focus on the other things i could be doing during that one hour of my day? Or do I let myself go and let God take over. Chapel is a blessing, not a curse. By worshiping, God fuels my soul.  He is my constant encourager when i feel the world around me is crumbling.  He's there. He is always waiting for the moment when his child comes home to him.  Lord, I run to you through the rain, through the hurricanes, and through the blessings. I will stand for you.
"And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?"
With a blessed heart,

College...101

I have now been a college student for two full weeks...First may I say college is hard. High school did not prepare me for drawing 101 or knowing what/when assignments are due all on my own. First mistake I have made...Declaring two majors and thinking it was going to be a walk in the park...HA! Second mistake...Thinking Drawing would be simple...YEAH right. Last but not least...Choosing the top bunk, I move a lot what can I do? (FYI I have not fallen off yet...key word YET!) But within all my mistakes comes a few victories. I have now got my own art locker...which in other words I feel pretty legit. I also have figured out the system in turning assignments on time...(email or what they call here blackboard). The bunk bed problem? Well the roommate purchased earplugs...and I purchased a stepladder. = ) This college thing... isn't so hard, all you really need is a pencil anyway...a smile might help to get through the hour long lectures too. Oh I soo got this!
With a cheerful heart,
